Add the Microsoft SharePoint Excel Connector

Authenticate to Microsoft SharePoint Excel

After you add the connector, you need to set the required properties.
  • URL: Enter the base URL for a site or site collection.
  • File: Enter the name of the Microsoft Excel workbook to which you want to connect.
supports authenticating to in several ways. Select your authentication method below to proceed to the relevant section that contains the authentication details.

NTLM

To connect with NTLM user credentials, specify the following properties:
  • Auth Scheme: Select NTLM.
  • User: Enter the username that you use to authenticate to the Microsoft server.
  • Password: Enter the password that you use to authenticate to the Microsoft server.

Basic

To connect with your user credentials, specify the following properties:
  • Auth Scheme: Select Basic.
  • User: Enter the username that you use to authenticate to the Microsoft server.
  • Password: Enter the password that you use to authenticate to the Microsoft server.

Digest

To connect with digest-authentication credentials, specify the following properties:
  • Auth Scheme: Select Digest.
  • User: Enter the username that you use to authenticate to your Microsoft account.
  • Password: Enter the password that you use to authenticate to your Microsoft account.

Forms

To connect with a custom authentication method, specify the following properties:
  • Auth Scheme: Select Forms.
  • User: Enter the username that you use to authenticate to your Microsoft account.
  • Password: Enter the password that you use to authenticate to your Microsoft account.

None

Negotiate

To connect with Kerberos credentials, specify the following properties:
  • Auth Scheme: Select Negotiate.
  • User: Enter the username that you use to authenticate to your Microsoft account.
  • Password: Enter the password that you use to authenticate to your Microsoft account.

Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)

To connect with single sign-on (SSO) via ADFS, specify the following properties:
  • Auth Scheme: Select ADFS.
  • User: Enter the username that you use to authenticate to your ADFS account.
  • Password: Enter the password that you use to authenticate to your ADFS account.
  • STSURL: The URL of the security token service (STS).
  • SSO Login URL: Enter the login URL that is used by your SSO provider.
  • SSO Domain: Enter the domain of the user.
  • SSO Properties: Enter additional properties that are required to connect to your identity provider. You must use a semicolon-separated list of properties (for example, SSOProperty1=Value1;SSOProperty2=Value2;…).

Complete Your Connection

To complete your connection:
  1. Specify the following properties:
    • SharePoint Version: Select your version of Microsoft SharePoint from the list. The default version is SharePoint 2013.
    • Folder: Enter the path to the folder that contains the workbook that you specified earlier for File.
    • Library: Specify the document library to which you want to connect.
    • Use RESTAPI: Select whether you want to use the REST API (instead of the OData API) to retrieve data. By default, the Enable checkbox is already selected.
  2. Define advanced connection settings on the Advanced tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)
  3. Click Create & Test to create your connection.
