# Sybase IQ

You can use the Sybase IQ connector from the CData Sync application to capture data
from Sybase IQ and move it to any supported destination. To do so, you need to add
the connector, authenticate to the connector, and complete your connection.

> [!NOTE]
>
> This connector is available in Sync Self-Hosted deployments only.

## Add the Sybase IQ Connector

To enable Sync to use data from Sybase IQ, you first must add the
connector, as follows:

<ol>
  <li>Open the **Connections** page of the Sync dashboard.</li>
  <li>Click **Add Connection** to open the **Select Connectors** page.</li>
  <li>Click the **Sources** tab and locate
  the **Sybase IQ** row.</li>

  <li>
    Click the **Configure Connection** icon at the end of that row to open
    the **New Connection** page. This action opens the
    **Add Connection** dialog.

    **Note:** If the **Configure Connection** icon is not
    available, click the **Download Connector** icon to install
    the Sybase IQ connector.
  </li>

  <li>Enter a name for your connection in the **Add Connection** dialog.</li>
  <li>Click **Add** to open the **Settings** tab for your connector.</li>
</ol>

For more information about installing new connectors, see
[Connections](https://docs.sync.cdata.com/26.4/en/connections/connections.md).

## Authenticate to Sybase IQ

After you add the connector, you need to set the required properties.

* **Server:** Enter the host name or IP of the server that hosts either your Sybase IQ or SAP SQL Anywhere database instance.
* **Port:** Enter the port number for your Sybase IQ database. The default port value is **2638**.
* **Database:** Enter the name of either your Sybase IQ or the SAP SQL Anywhere database that runs on your specified server.

CData Sync supports authenticating to Sybase IQ in several ways. Select your authentication method below to proceed to the relevant section that contains the authentication details.

* [**Password**](#password) (default)

### Password

To connect with your user credentials, set the following properties:

<ul><li>**Auth Scheme:** Select **Password**.</li>
<li>**User:** Enter the username that you use to authenticate to your Sybase IQ account.</li>

### Kerberos

To connect with Kerberos, specify these settings:

* **Auth Scheme:** Select **Kerberos**.
* **Kerberos KDC:** Enter the host name or IP Address of your Kerberos Key Distribution Center (KDC) machine.
* **Kerberos Realm:** Enter the Kerberos realm that you use to authenticate to Kerberos.
* **Kerberos SPN:** Enter the service principal name (SPN) for the Kerberos domain controller.
* **Kerberos User:** Enter the principal username (in the format *Host*/*User*@*Realm*) for the Kerberos domain controller.
* **Kerberos User:** Enter the principal name for the Kerberos Domain Controller. The name should be in the form ***Host*/*User*@*Realm***.
