# Anaplan

You can use the Anaplan connector from the CData Sync application to capture data
from Anaplan and move it to any supported destination. To do so, you need to add
the connector, authenticate to the connector, and complete your connection.

## Add the Anaplan Connector

To enable Sync to use data from Anaplan, you first must add the
connector, as follows:

Open the **Connections** page of the Sync dashboard.

Click **Add Connection** to open the **Select Connectors** page.

Click the **Sources** tab and locate
  the **Anaplan** row.

    Click the **Configure Connection** icon at the end of that row to open
    the **New Connection** page. This action opens the
    **Add Connection** dialog.

    **Note:** If the **Configure Connection** icon is not
    available, click the **Download Connector** icon to install
    the Anaplan connector.

Enter a name for your connection in the **Add Connection** dialog.

Click **Add** to open the **Settings** tab for your connector.

For more information about installing new connectors, see
[Connections](https://docs.sync.cdata.com/26.4/en/connections/connections.md).

## Authenticate to Anaplan

After you add the connector, you need to set the required properties.

* **Region:** Select the region where your server is hosted. The default region is **US1**.

CData Sync supports authenticating to Anaplan in several ways. Select your authentication method below to proceed to the relevant section that contains the authentication details.

* [**Basic**](#basic)

To connect with your user credentials, set the following properties:

**Auth Scheme:** Select **Basic**.

**User:** Enter the username that you use to authenticate to your Anaplan account.

### Certificate

To connect with X.509 certificate authentication, specify these properties:

* **Auth Scheme:** Select **Certificate**.
* **Certificate:** Enter the absolute path to the certificate file or the Base64-encoded certificate content in PEM format, depending on the value of **Certificate Type**.

* **Private Key:** Enter the absolute path to the private key file or the private key content in PEM format encoded in Base64, depending on the value of **Private Key Type**.
* **Private Key Type:** Select the format (**PEM\_FILE** or **PEM\_BLOB**) for the private key. The default type is **PEM\_FILE**.
* (Optional) **Certificate Password:** Enter the password for the certificate, if the certificate is password-protected.
* (Optional) **Private Key Password:** Enter the password for the private key, if the private key is encrypted.
