# Act! CRM

You can use the Act! CRM connector from the CData Sync application to capture data
from Act! CRM and move it to any supported destination. To do so, you need to add
the connector, authenticate to the connector, and complete your connection.

## Add the Act! CRM Connector

To enable Sync to use data from Act! CRM, you first must add the
connector, as follows:

Open the **Connections** page of the Sync dashboard.

Click **Add Connection** to open the **Select Connectors** page.

Click the **Sources** tab and locate
  the **Act! CRM** row.

Click the **Configure Connection** icon at the end of that row to open
the **New Connection** page. This action opens the
    **Add Connection** dialog.

**Note:** If the **Configure Connection** icon is not
available, click the **Download Connector** icon to install
    the Act! CRM connector.

Enter a name for your connection in the **Add Connection** dialog.

Click **Add** to open the **Settings** tab for your connector.

For more information about installing new connectors, see
[Connections](https://docs.sync.cdata.com/26.4/en/connections/connections.md).

## Authenticate to Act! CRM

After you add the connector, you need to set the required properties.

* **Act Database:** Enter the name of the Act! CRM database to which you want to connect. To locate the name of the database, click the **About Act! Premium** item in the **?** menu (top right of the window) in your Act! CRM account. When you click that item, a window that contains the database name is displayed.
* **URL:** Enter the URL for Act! CRM (for example, http\://*ServerName*/).
* **User:** Enter the username that you use to authenticate to the Act! CRM account.
* **Password:** Enter the password that you use to authenticate to the Act! CRM account.
* **Act Edition:** Select your edition of Act! CRM.
  * (Default) **Act CRM:** This selection specifies the standard Act! CRM edition.
  * **Act Premium Cloud:** When you select this edition, you must also specify the name for your Act! Premium Cloud account in the **Act Cloud Name** text box. You can locate the handle in the browser address field when you open your Act! Premium Cloud account online, as shown below:https\://eup1-iis-04.eu.hosted.act.com/*ActCloudName*

## Complete Your Connection

To complete your connection:

1. Define advanced connection settings on the **Advanced** tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)
2. Click **Create & Test** to create your connection.
