## Add the Trello Connector

## Authenticate to Trello

After you add the connector, you need to set the required properties.

{siteName} supports authenticating to {pageTitle} in several ways. Select your authentication method below to proceed to the relevant section that contains the authentication details.

### Token

To connect with a {datasource} token, specify the following properties:

* **Auth Scheme:** Select **Token**.
* **API Key:** Enter your {datasource} API key.

  To obtain your key:

  1. Log in to your {datasource} account.
  2. Navigate to the Power-Up Admin Portal. Within the portal, create a new Power-Up (if you have not already) by clicking **New**.
  3. Click the **API Key** tab within your Power-Up settings. Your API key appears on this tab.
  4. Copy the key and paste it in the **API Key** text box in {siteNameShort}.
* **Token:** Enter your {datasource} token.

  To obtain your token:

  1. Log in to your {datasource} account.
  2. Open the **Token Request** URL ([https://trello.com/1/authorize?expiration=never\&name=MyApp\&scope=read,write\&response\_type=token\&key=YourAPIKey](https://trello.com/1/authorize?expiration=never\&name=MyApp\&scope=read,write\&response_type=token\&key=YourAPIKey)) and change *YourAPIKey* in that URL to your API key.
  3. Authorize the application by clicking **Allow**. After you authorize the application, your {datasource} token is displayed.
  4. Copy the token and paste in the **Token** text box in {siteNameShort}.

## Complete Your Connection

To complete your connection:

1. (Optional) For **Board Id**, enter the identifier for the board that your {datasource} card references.
2. Define advanced connection settings on the **Advanced** tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)
3. {oauthschemes ? `If you authenticate with ${oauthschemes}, click` : "Click"} **Connect to {datasource}** to connect to your {pageTitle} account.
4. Click **Create & Test** to create your connection.
