## Connect to SAS Xpt

To connect to SAS Xpt in {siteNameShort}:

1. Open the **Connections** page of the {siteNameShort} dashboard.
2. Click **Add Connection** to open the **Select Connectors** page.
3. Click the **Sources** tab and locate the **SAS Xpt** row.
4. Click the **Configure Connection** icon at the end of that row. If you do not see the **Configure Connection** icon, add the connector from the [Connections](../connections) page.
5. Enter the following connection settings on the **Settings** tab:
   * **URI:** Enter the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) for your SAS Xpt resource location.
   * **Connection Type:** Select the connection type that you want to use. The default type is **Local**.
   * **Auth Scheme:** Select the auth scheme that you want to use. The default type is **None**.
6. Define advanced connection settings on the **Advanced** tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)
7. Click **Create & Test** to create your connection.
