## Add the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Connector

## Authenticate to Salesforce Marketing Cloud

After you add the connector, you need to set the required properties.

**Subdomain:** Enter the subdomain of your {datasource} API.

{pageTitle} supports two API schema types. Select your schema below to proceed to the relevant section for your schema.

* **SOAP:** Navigate to [SOAP API Authentication Methods](#soap-api-authentication-methods) to select an authentication scheme.
* **REST:** Navigate to [REST API Authentication Methods](#rest-api-authentication-methods) to select an authentication scheme.

## SOAP API Authentication Methods

Select your authentication scheme for the SOAP API:

## Complete Your Connection

To complete your connection:

1. (**For the REST API only**) For **User Legacy Authentication**, select whether you want the connection to be made to the {datasource} REST API using legacy authentication. By default, the **Enable** checkbox is not selected.
2. Define advanced connection settings on the **Advanced** tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)
3. {oauthschemes ? `If you authenticate with ${oauthschemes}, click` : "Click"} **Connect to {datasource}** to connect to your {pageTitle} account.
4. Click **Create & Test** to create your connection.
