## Prerequisites

For {datasource} v28 and later, you must install the Sdata adapter before you use the {datasource} driver. See the <a href="https://github.com/Sage/SData-2.0/issues/171" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sage SData-2.0 documentation</a> for information about how to install the adapter.

The {siteNameShort} application connects to {datasource} data via the SData REST API, which is included with the {datasource} installation. SData provides access to both local company datasets and those stored on network drives.

Before you establish a connection, ensure the Sage SData service is properly configured. Then, follow these steps to obtain the dataset URL and connect:

1. Open the {datasource} software and select **Tools > Internet Options**.
2. Click the **SData Settings** tab.
3. Click **Details** next to the {datasource} application to which you want to connect. This action opens a window that displays a list of company names along with the addresses to their corresponding datasets.
4. Set the **URL** property in the "Authenticate to Sage 50 UK" section below to the value in the address field next to the company that you want to use.

## Add the Sage 50 UK Connector

<CommonDatasourceAddConnector datasource={datasource} title={pageTitle} destination={false} siteNameShort={siteNameShort} />

## Authenticate to Sage 50 UK

After you add the connector, you need to set the required properties.

**URL:** Enter the URL for company data set that you want.

{siteName} supports authenticating to {pageTitle} in several ways. Select your authentication method below to proceed to the relevant section that contains the authentication details.

* [**Basic**](#basic) (default)
* [**Digest**](#digest)
* [**None**](#none)

### Basic

<CommonAuthSchemeBasic siteName={siteName} siteNameShort={siteNameShort} datasource={datasource} />

### Digest

<CommonAuthSchemeDigest siteName={siteName} siteNameShort={siteNameShort} datasource={datasource} />

### None

<CommonAuthSchemeNone siteName={siteName} siteNameShort={siteNameShort} datasource={datasource} />

## Complete Your Connection

To complete your connection:

1. Define advanced connection settings on the **Advanced** tab. (In most cases, though, you should not need these settings.)
2. Click **Create & Test** to create your connection.
